Directions:
- Step 1: Prepare Your Chickpeas. If you’re using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and cook them until tender. If using canned chickpeas, simply drain and rinse them well to remove excess sodium.
- Step 2: Combine Ingredients. In your blender or food processor, add the peeled chickpeas, tahini, warm water, Greek yogurt (if using), garlic, lemon juice, salt, and cumin.
- Step 3: Blend Until Smooth. Start blending on low speed, gradually increasing to high. Blend until the mixture is creamy and smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as necessary. You may need to add a bit more warm water to achieve your desired consistency.
- Step 4: Add Olive Oil. Once your hummus is smooth, drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil while blending. This adds richness and flavor.
- Step 5: Taste and Adjust. Taste the hummus and adjust seasoning if needed. You might want to add more salt, lemon juice, or cumin based on your preference.
- Step 6: Serve and Enjoy. Transfer the Ultimate Hummus Dip to a serving bowl. Drizzle with a bit more olive oil and sprinkle some paprika or fresh herbs on top for garnish. Serve with an array of veggies, pita bread, or even crispy air fryer chickpeas for added crunch!
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, add roasted red peppers.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
- Serve with a variety of dippers like carrots, cucumbers, or pita chips.
