Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for crispy bread.
In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, kosher salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, dried basil, and dried oregano. Mix until well combined.
Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise.
Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over each half of the sliced bread.
Sprinkle the shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese evenly over the garlic butter.
Place the prepared bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Sprinkle crushed red pepper on top, along with extra Parmesan and chopped parsley for garnish.
Allow to cool for a minute, then slice and serve warm.
