Ingredients

  • 4 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon finely chopped
  • 6 slices bread

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Knife
  • Toaster or Oven
  • Spoon

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, chopped dill, salt, and ground pepper. Mix until creamy and smooth.
  2. Preheat your toaster or oven to medium. Toast the sliced bread on a baking sheet until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Spread a generous spoonful of the ricotta mixture over each slice of toasted bread.
  4. Sprinkle the finely chopped smoked salmon over the ricotta spread.
  5. Garnish with fresh dill or lemon zest and serve immediately on a platter.

Notes

  • Ensure the ricotta is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Don't over-toast the bread; it should be crispy but not hard.
  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
