Ingredients

  • 1 cup non-dairy milk Almond, soy, oat, or coconut milk work beautifully.
  • 1 cup non-dairy yogurt plain or vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter Creamy texture and a delicious nutty flavor.
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder Adds protein and rich chocolate flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon cacao powder For an extra chocolatey taste and antioxidants.
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds A great source of fiber and healthy fats.
  • 1 teaspoon flax seeds Another excellent source of omega-3s.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt Enhances the overall flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract For a hint of sweetness and aroma.
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries Adds a tartness that balances the sweetness.
  • 4-5 pieces fresh strawberries Sweet and juicy, perfect for this blend.
  • 1 cup frozen sweet cherries Key ingredient, providing a lovely texture and sweetness.
  • 1 squeeze fresh lemon juice optional

Equipment

  • High-speed blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • Glass or mason jar

Method

  1. Start by collecting all your ingredients: non-dairy milk, yogurt, almond butter, protein powder, cacao powder, chia seeds, flax seeds, sea salt, vanilla extract, fresh raspberries, strawberries, frozen cherries, and optional lemon juice.
  2. In your high-speed blender, add the non-dairy milk first. Then, layer in the non-dairy yogurt, almond butter, protein powder, cacao powder, chia seeds, flax seeds, sea salt, and vanilla extract.
  3. Next, toss in your fresh raspberries, fresh strawberries, and frozen cherries. If you're using lemon juice, add a squeeze at this point.
  4. Secure the lid on your blender and blend on high until everything is well combined and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula.
  5. Taste your smoothie. If you prefer it sweeter, add a touch more almond butter or a drizzle of maple syrup. If it’s too thick, add a bit more non-dairy milk.
  6. Pour the smoothie into your glass or mason jar and enjoy immediately. You can top it with extra fruits, chia seeds, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

Notes

  • Freeze some ingredients in advance for quick smoothie prep.
  • Use different fruits for a unique flavor profile.
  • Adjust sweetness with natural sweeteners like maple syrup.
