Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Quinoa rinsed
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 dash Salt optional
  • 1 dash Olive Oil optional

Method
 

  1. Place the quinoa in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse it under cold running water for about 30 seconds.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the rinsed quinoa, two cups of water, and a dash of salt and olive oil if using. Stir to mix everything evenly.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a microwave-safe lid. Microwave on high for 6-8 minutes.
  4. After cooking, let the bowl sit in the microwave for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and use a fork to fluff the quinoa gently. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider using vegetable or chicken broth instead of water.
  • If you prefer a nuttier flavor, toast the quinoa in a dry skillet for a few minutes before cooking.
