Ingredients
  

For the Rolls:
  • 600 g plain flour
  • 3 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 375 ml milk

Method
 

Baking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Combine Dry Ingredients
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Whisk until blended.
  2. Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients
    In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, honey, and oil until the honey dissolves.
  3. Step 3: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
    Make a well in the dry ingredients, pour in the wet mixture, and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Step 4: Knead the Dough
    Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Step 5: First Rise
    Put the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Step 6: Shape the Rolls
    Punch down the dough, divide into 12-16 pieces, and shape into balls.
  7. Step 7: Second Rise
    Cover the shaped rolls and let them rise for another 30-40 minutes.
  8. Step 8: Preheat the Oven
    Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  9. Step 9: Bake the Rolls
    Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
  10. Step 10: Cool and Serve
    Let cool on a wire rack and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a heartier roll, substitute half the flour with whole wheat flour.
  • Make them vegan by using plant-based milk and maple syrup.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
