Instructions:
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking.
- Step 2: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and stir in the marinara sauce. Let it simmer for a few minutes to combine the flavors.
- Step 3: Lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or olive oil to prevent the cupcakes from sticking.
- Step 4: Place one wonton wrapper in each muffin cup, pressing it down gently to form a cup shape. You can add additional wrappers for a thicker base if desired.
- Step 5: Spoon a layer of the beef and marinara mixture into each wonton wrapper. Then, add a dollop of ricotta cheese on top, followed by a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella.
- Step 6: Continue layering with another wonton wrapper, more beef mixture, and more cheeses, ending with a final layer of mozzarella on top.
- Step 7: Bake the cupcakes in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the tops are golden and bubbly.
- Step 8: Let the cupcakes cool for a few minutes before carefully removing them from the muffin tin. Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil, if desired.
Notes
- For an extra crunch, bake the wonton wrappers for a few minutes before adding the filling.
- Try different types of cheese like Fontina or Gouda for a unique flavor profile.
- Add spices like Italian seasoning or red pepper flakes for added flavor.
- Make a double batch and freeze some for a quick meal later; they reheat beautifully!
