Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk I love using Almond Breeze
  • 1 pitted date
  • 1 tbsp raw shelled hemp seeds or seeds of your choice
  • 1/2 ripe medium banana
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 3/4 cup baby kale or spinach
  • 1 cup ice

Equipment

  • High-speed blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Glass or jar

Method
 

  1. Gather your ingredients. Rinse the baby kale or spinach if needed, and peel the banana.
  2. In your high-speed blender, pour in the 3/4 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. This will be the creamy base of your smoothie.
  3. Next, add the pitted date. This will add natural sweetness without the need for added sugars.
  4. Toss in the 3/4 cup of baby kale or spinach. This is where the superfood aspect shines through, providing loads of nutrients and fiber.
  5. Now, add the 1/2 ripe banana, 1 tbsp of raw shelled hemp seeds, and 1/2 tbsp of chia seeds. These ingredients not only enhance the flavor but also boost the nutritional profile.
  6. Finally, add the 1 cup of ice to make your smoothie refreshingly cold and textured.
  7. Secure the lid on your blender and blend on high until all ingredients are well combined and smooth. If the mixture is too thick, feel free to add a splash more almond milk until you reach your desired consistency.
