How to Make Popovers

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Grease your popover pan or muffin tin with melted butter.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, sugar, and salt. Gradually add flour and milk, mixing until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cups, filling each about half full.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes without opening the oven door.
  6. Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (177°C) and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use room temperature eggs and milk for the best rise.
  • Always preheat the oven to ensure a good puff.
  • Avoid opening the oven during baking to prevent collapse.
