Instructions:
- Start by removing the chipotle chile from the adobo sauce can. Chop it into smaller pieces to make blending easier. Don’t forget to add in that extra teaspoon of adobo sauce for more flavor!
- In your blender or food processor, add the chopped chipotle, mayonnaise, plain Greek yogurt, chopped cilantro, ground cumin, dried dill, and salt.
- Blend the ingredients on high until the mixture is completely smooth and well combined. If the sauce is too thick for your liking, feel free to add a teaspoon of water to reach your desired consistency.
- Give your chipotle sauce a taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You can add more salt, more chipotle for heat, or even a squeeze of lime juice for extra brightness.
- Transfer your chipotle sauce to a serving container or a jar. It’s ready to use right away, but letting it sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes will allow the flavors to meld beautifully.
Notes
- Letting the sauce sit for a while enhances the flavors. It’s worth the wait!
- The smoked flavor from the chipotle is essential for that authentic taste.
- This sauce can easily be doubled or halved, depending on how much you need.
