Honey Sesame Shrimp

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb jumbo shrimp deveined & tail on
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Mixing Bowl

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, sesame oil, soy sauce, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk until smooth and set aside.
  2. Heat your large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Allow it to warm up, then add a drizzle of sesame oil if desired.
  3. Add the jumbo shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Once the shrimp are cooked through, pour the prepared sauce over them. Stir gently to coat and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and serve over steamed rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey to suit your taste.
  • Add red pepper flakes or sriracha for a spicy kick.
  • Toss in toasted sesame seeds or chopped nuts for a crunchy texture.
