Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (plus extra for topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup water (you might need to add a little more)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for even baking.
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, sugar, salt, and paprika.
  3. Step 3: Add the cold unsalted butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Step 4: Gradually stir in the water and vanilla until the dough comes together.
  5. Step 5: Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
  6. Step 6: Cut the dough into squares or rectangles and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  7. Step 7: Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown, watching closely to avoid burning.
  8. Step 8: Allow to cool on a wire rack before enjoying your crackers!
