Ingredients
  

For the Bread:
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar , plus 1 pinch
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 5 to 6 cups bread flour
  • Butter for topping (optional)

Method
 

Directions:
  1. Step 1: Activate the Yeast - In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.
  2. Step 2: Combine Ingredients - Once your yeast mixture is ready, add the salt and vegetable oil. Gradually mix in 5 cups of bread flour, one cup at a time.
  3. Step 3: Knead the Dough - Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Step 4: First Rise - Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Step 5: Shape the Loaf - Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it into a greased loaf pan.
  6. Step 6: Second Rise - Cover the shaped loaf with a towel and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes, until puffed up.
  7. Step 7: Preheat Oven - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Step 8: Bake the Bread - Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Step 9: Cool and Enjoy - Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
