Preparation Steps:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Place the hanger steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably up to 4 hours.
- If you’re grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. For a skillet, heat it over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Remove the steaks from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place the steaks on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F.
- Once cooked, transfer the steaks to a cutting board and cover loosely with foil. Let them rest for at least 5 minutes.
- Using a sharp knife, slice the hanger steak against the grain into thick strips. Serve warm.
Notes
- Marinate overnight for deeper flavor.
- Let the steak rest after cooking for juicier results.
- Pair with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
