Ingredients

  • 1 head Cauliflower cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1 egg Egg beaten
  • 1 cup Whole-wheat Panko breadcrumbs can use gluten-free if desired
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo Sauce
  • as needed Avocado Oil Cooking Spray for spraying

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Start by washing and cutting your head of cauliflower into bite-sized florets. This ensures that they cook evenly in the air fryer.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the beaten egg, whole-wheat Panko breadcrumbs, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and kosher salt. Stir until well combined.
  3. Dip each cauliflower floret into the egg mixture, ensuring it's well coated. Then, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to help the breadcrumbs adhere.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Spray the basket with avocado oil cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the coated cauliflower in a single layer in the basket, making sure not to overcrowd. Air fry for about 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  5. Once the cauliflower is golden brown and crispy, remove it from the air fryer and place it in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with buffalo sauce and toss gently to coat.
  6. Transfer the air fried cauliflower to a serving platter. Enjoy it hot as a delicious appetizer, side dish, or snack. Pair it with your favorite dipping sauce for an extra treat!

Notes

  • For a vegan option, replace the egg with a flaxseed meal and water mixture.
  • Experiment with different spices for unique flavors.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
