Preparation Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the 1 cup warm water with 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast and 1 tablespoon honey. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Once your yeast mixture is frothy, add the 1/2 teaspoon salt and 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour to the bowl. Mix until a dough begins to form. Then, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
