Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cups Warm Water (not boiling)
  • 1 packet Active Yeast or 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Soda
  • 1 large Egg whisked
  • 2 tablespoons Melted Butter optional for brushing

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, active yeast, and granulated sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add kosher salt and all-purpose flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
