Ingredients
  

For the Chicken:
  • 2 pounds chicken breasts or thighs
  • 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 cup tamari or soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup organic ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2-3 tablespoons chili paste
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup fresh chopped herbs (scallions or cilantro)
  • Toasted sesame seeds, for serving
  • Rice, for serving

Method
 

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Start by placing the chicken breasts or thighs at the bottom of your crockpot.
  2. Chop the garlic and sprinkle it over the chicken.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the tamari or soy sauce, organic ketchup, honey, chili paste, rice vinegar, and black pepper.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and garlic in the crockpot, ensuring the chicken is well coated.
  5. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  6. About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets to the crockpot.
  7. Once done, shred the chicken in the sauce, serve it over rice, and top with fresh herbs and toasted sesame seeds.
