For the Crackers:

  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • ½ cup strong cheddar grated
  • ¼ cup parmesan grated
  • Fresh thyme leaves for a fragrant touch; dried thyme can also be used

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Rolling Pin
  • Cookie cutter or knife

Method

How to Prepare Coconut Crackers
  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your crackers bake evenly and get that perfect golden color.
  2. Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the coconut flour, grated strong cheddar, grated parmesan, and fresh thyme leaves. Mix well to ensure the cheese and flour are evenly distributed.
  3. Step 3: Add Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and melted butter together. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Step 4: Roll Out the Dough
Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper. Using a rolling pin, roll it out to about ¼-inch thickness. This will help your crackers achieve that nice crunch.
  5. Step 5: Cut the Crackers
Using a cookie cutter or a knife, cut the dough into your desired shapes. Place the cut crackers onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Step 6: Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  7. Step 7: Cool and Serve
Remove the crackers from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy them as a delightful snack or as part of your appetizer spread.
