  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream for filling
  • 4 large egg yolks

  • 2 (4-ounce) packets semi-sweet baking bars
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Whipped Cream Topping:
  • 1 cup heavy cream for topping
  • 4 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for topping
  • 1 chocolate bar optional for garnishing

Method
 

Cooking Steps:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Crust - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the melted butter and salt. Stir until it resembles wet sand. Press into a 9-inch pie dish. Bake for 10 minutes and cool completely.
  2. Step 2: Make the Chocolate Filling - In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, salt, cornstarch, and milk. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Whisk egg yolks in a separate bowl and temper with hot milk mixture, then return to saucepan. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, then stir in chopped baking bars, butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Step 3: Assemble the Pie - Pour the filling into the cooled crust, smoothing the top. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  4. Step 4: Prepare the Whipped Cream Topping - In a mixing bowl, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form. Spread over the chocolate filling.
