  • 4 tablespoons butter (divided into 4 pats)
  • Cowboy butter (optional, for serving)

Method
 

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Steaks - Start by removing the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to allow them to come to room temperature.
  2. Step 2: Season Generously - Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper.
  3. Step 3: Heat Your Skillet - Place your cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
  4. Step 4: Sear the Steaks - Carefully place the ribeye steaks into the hot skillet and let them sear undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Flip and Add Butter - Flip the steaks over and add 2 pats of butter to the skillet.
  6. Step 6: Check the Temperature - Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature; aim for 130°F to 135°F for medium-rare.
  7. Step 7: Rest and Serve - Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes before serving.
