Ingredients

For the Beef Marinade:
  • 1.5 pounds sirloin beef tips thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic paste optional
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Vegetables:
  • 1 pound snow peas
  • 8 ounces sliced white mushrooms
For the Sauce:
  • 0.5 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Equipment

  • Skillet or Wok
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, combine the sirloin beef tips with minced garlic, low sodium soy sauce, water, grated ginger, chili garlic paste (if using), corn starch, honey, and baking soda. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Vegetables
While the beef is marinating, rinse the snow peas and slice the mushrooms. Set them aside, ready to add to the skillet.
  3. Step 3: Heat the Skillet
In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Step 4: Cook the Beef
Add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Step 5: Sauté the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add the snow peas and sliced mushrooms. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  6. Step 6: Combine Everything
Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the remaining low sodium soy sauce, flour, and honey. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Step 7: Serve and Enjoy
Once everything is heated through and well combined, remove the skillet from the heat and serve warm.
