Ingredients

For the Barramundi:
  • 4 fillets barramundi (4-5 ounces each, skin-on or skinless)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 whole lemon (for zest)
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Equipment

  • Sauté pan
  • Spatula
  • Zester or grater
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Plate

Method

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients - Gather all your ingredients. Rinse the barramundi fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Zest the lemon, ensuring you only take the yellow part, as the white pith can be bitter.
  2. Step 2: Season the Fish - In a small bowl, mix the lemon zest, dried parsley, salt, and pepper together. Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of each barramundi fillet for a flavorful crust.
  3. Step 3: Heat the Pan - In a sauté pan, heat the olive oil or butter over medium-high heat. Allow it to get hot but not smoking.
  4. Step 4: Cook the Barramundi - Carefully place the barramundi fillets in the hot pan, skin-side down if applicable. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  5. Step 5: Flip the Fillets - Using a spatula, gently flip the fillets over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Step 6: Serve and Enjoy - Once cooked, transfer the barramundi fillets to a serving plate. You can drizzle any remaining pan juices over the top for added flavor. Serve with your favorite sides, and enjoy your delicious meal!

Notes

  • Don't overcrowd the pan for an even cook.
  • Pat the fish dry for a better sear.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
