Method

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Sushi Rice. Cook sushi rice according to package instructions and let cool to room temperature. Season with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  2. Step 2: Set Up Your Rolling Station. Lay your sushi mat on a clean surface and cover it with plastic wrap.
  3. Step 3: Place the Nori. Put one nori sheet, shiny side down, on the mat aligned with the edge closest to you.
  4. Step 4: Add the Sushi Rice. Wet your hands, grab a handful of sushi rice, and spread it evenly over the nori, leaving an inch at the top edge.
  5. Step 5: Add the Avocado. Place avocado slices in a line down the center of the rice.
  6. Step 6: Sprinkle Sesame Seeds. Sprinkle roasted sesame seeds over the avocado.
  7. Step 7: Roll It Up. Starting from the edge of the mat closest to you, lift the mat and roll tightly over the filling.
  8. Step 8: Seal the Roll. Moisten the exposed edge of the nori with water and press gently to seal.
  9. Step 9: Slice the Roll. Use a sharp knife to slice the roll into bite-sized pieces, wiping the knife between cuts.
  10. Step 10: Serve and Enjoy! Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.

Notes

  • Always use sushi rice for the best texture.
  • Ensure your avocados are ripe for creaminess.
  • Take your time while rolling to ensure a tight roll.
