Asian Salmon Fillets

Ingredients
  

For the Marinade:
  • 3 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave nectar
  • 2 medium garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger or fresh ginger
For the Salmon:
  • 4 6-ounce salmon fillets fresh or frozen
  • Minced cilantro for garnish if desired

Method
 

Instructions:
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the reduced-sodium soy sauce, freshly squeezed lime juice, honey, minced garlic, and ground ginger. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. For oven baking, arrange the marinated salmon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 12-15 minutes. For stovetop cooking, add oil to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  5. Once cooked, garnish with minced cilantro and serve immediately with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • Cooked salmon can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Marinate salmon fillets for up to 24 hours for enhanced flavor.
  • Use fresh garlic for the best taste.
