Ingredients

  • 20 oz fresh or frozen ravioli (if using frozen, thaw before cooking)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Fresh basil (for garnish)
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking Sheet
  • Cooking spray

Method

  1. If you’re using frozen ravioli, make sure to thaw them completely. If they’re fresh, you can move straight to the next step.
  2. In one mixing bowl, whisk the 2 large eggs until they are well combined. In another bowl, mix together the seasoned bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried basil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and ground black pepper.
  3. Dip each ravioli first into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Then, coat them in the bread crumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the crumbs stick well.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes. This step is essential for achieving that perfect crispy texture.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Arrange the breaded ravioli in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
  6. Air fry the ravioli for about 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking. They should be golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once cooked, remove the ravioli from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh parsley and basil. Serve with your favorite marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free ravioli.
  • Experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar for varied flavor.
